On the banks of the peaceful Nam Ou River, with spectacular views across the water to the dramatic high karst mountains that surround the small town, is Nong Khiaw’s newest property. It’s main draw is that it has the only swimming pool in town, which provides blessed relief from the heat and also provides a wonderful space from which to enjoy a sun-downer from the deck. Along with the yoga & massage platform, the resorts’ restaurant also overlooks the river.

Mandala Ou has simple, comfortable detached bungalows with an eco-friendly focus, but with modern conveniences. The natural coloured fabrics and traditional Lao style blend well with the tropical water gardens. Six of the bungalows are river-side and the garden bungalows have an ‘attic’ space designed to create a cooling breeze.
